What Steps Does Michaels Take To Protect Your Information?

What Type Of Information Does Michaels Collect?

Michaels collects non-public personal information from you on credit applications and other forms. Among other things, Michaels gathers customer information needed to evaluate your credit such as information regarding your other credit accounts with others, your income, social security number and other credit information from consumer reporting agencies. We also gather information about your transactions with us.

What Information Do We Share And With Whom?

We only share non-public personal information about you, as described above, as permitted by law. For example, we may share this information with trusted employees, accountants, Michaels’ agents or service providers. Service providers must agree to safeguard your information. We may also share some of your information as described above.

We may provide information to regulatory authorities and law enforcement officials or when you have a credit account, we will share information about your account with credit bureaus, or when we otherwise believe in good faith that the law requires it in accordance with applicable law. This policy notice applies to you if you currently have a customer relationship with Michaels (for example, through a credit account.) If you pay off your credit account or otherwise become an inactive customer, except as provided below, we will continue to adhere to the policies and practices described in this notice.
